This city is considered to be one of the tourist centres of higher hierarchy in the Atlantic coast due to its vast beaches, its landscape beauties, and its splendid residences and commercial centres, all of which are the result of a well-cared urbanization plan. 
It has a different climate as a result of a remarkable forestry work carried out in the original sand dunes that used to prevail in this zone. 
In its undulated streets, perfumed by the aroma of the eucalyptus, cypress, firs, poplars, araucarias, aromos and willows, there are chalets that compete in its good taste. 
It posseses 30 Km. of beaches with gentle slopes, of 100 and 200 metres wide, and with excellent beach resorts and hostelries offering all the services.
As long as adventure tourism is concerned, you can climb the sand dunes in four-wheeled motorcycles, practise sandboard, or take part in excursions in four wheel drive jeeps. 
Within a wild, green, unworried and elegant environment at the same time, you can also play golf (in a wonderful course of 18 holes), take part in horse ridings, have tea or a drink, and eat in one of its numberless cafeterias and restaurants. 
As regards lodging, it has a large number of hotels, apparts, apartments and chalets for rent for all the budgets.
