This
tourist centre is located on the western hillside of the Achala summit- central
mountain range of the Sierras of Córdoba. Streams, slopes and falls, together
with a thick vegetation, give this place a singular beauty. This zone of
traslasierra is linked to the city of Cordoba through a spectacular route of
high peaks, that crosses the Pampa of Achala.
Its
main natural attractions are the Panaholma river of temperate semithermal waters
with healing qualities and the Mina Clavero river of cold waters that give
origin to numberless picturesque beach resorts. Downstream, in the border
of Villa Cura Brochero, both rivers join giving birth to Los Sauces river, the
most important one of the Traslasierra Valley, with wide fine and warm sands
beaches that follow one another all along its course up to emptying out into La
Viña Dam.
As regards its cultural attractions, the craftmanship stands out, just as the
black ceramics, the pottery, the textiles and ship wool clothes, works in carob
wood, palm, cane, horn and leather, as well as an important tradition of
gastronomic handicraft products, such as sweets and alfajores.
Mina Clavero posseses, today, a varied receiving equipment: hotels, residential
areas, summer houses, varied gastronomy, discotheques, casino, game rooms;
appart from an important commercial centre.
It also has an extensive beach resort deep in the heart of the city,
carachterized by its sand bed and its crystal waters.
With
more than 320 sunny days per year, radiant days, fresh nights and a low
percentage of humidity; Mina Clavero is a place for visiting and live.
