It is a priviledged city due to its surrounding beauties and its important tourist infrastructure.
It also stands out for its climate therapeutic value, considered to be one of the best in the world.
It posseses an architecture abounding in big stony houses of English origin.
There are beach resorts, among which the Municipal Beach resort El Chorrillo stands out. It consists of two beautiful swimming pools over the homonimous river course  at the end of which you will find El Chorrito water spring
In a picturesque sierra, at 1 km. from the downtown radius, there is the image of Christ Redemptor, of 7 metres of height, to which you can reach through a path of comfortable access; at its bottom you will find San Roque's Chapel.
Next to this locality there is the city of Cruz Chica, where you will find the " Manuel Mujica Lainez Home” Museum- the place where the writer lived his last years, and Cruz Grande. These localities have wooded parks sprinkled with magnificent summer residences embedded in a sierran valley of singular beauty.
