This beautiful and attractive village lost in the sierras- today, a progressive though quiet city-, constitutes the northern entrance to the Punilla valley's tourist corridor. With Mount Uritorco as its protector, Capilla del Monte gathers in its proposal to the visitor a complete offer, because it comprises an astounding landscape: colorful and imposing sierras; multiform rocks and stones; and crystal waters streams, rivers and lakes.
The city displays a compact building style and posseses the only "roofed street" of South America with a complete centre of commercial activity.

For those who enjoy being in contact with nature, Capilla shows the visitor varied species of autochthonous flora and fauna within their original "habitats". You will have the possibility of admiring the white and red quebracho woods, together with thick woods of coconut, carob and hackberry trees, espinillos and piquillines whose treetops give lodging to varied species of birds. 
The most transcendental happenning of the last decades both at national and international level of Capilla del Monte is founded on the enchantment and mistery halo sorrounding its maximum symbol: Mount Uritorco. Especially due to its properties, it was the "landing" scenary of  "visitors from the outer world", for the "UFOS" investigators, and it was also considered to have an abundant reservation of energetic powers by others.
